Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs

This is a double recommendation. Far too many people think that Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs is a simple children's book with a basic movie adaptation. THIS IS WRONG. The movie was created by the writing team behind The Lego Movie and the cult animated comedy Clone High. It's legitimately one of the funniest and most sharply-paced movies I've ever seen.

Then the book that it's based on is absolutely terrific. Every page is packed with so, so many funny little details. It’s the kind of art that you could easily have framed on the wall. The book and the movie are good for entirely different reasons, but both are excellent examples of children’s entertainment that can be appreciated by more than just kids.

(Also when looking for a pic to use, I discovered that the book had multiple sequels I haven’t read yet. So that’s awesome.)
