Avocado Oil

Most vegetable oils are really, really nasty. They’re terrible for you, they often contain traces of all sorts of weird chemicals, and they become carcinogenic when burned. More natural oils that don’t require such intensive refinement however, such as olive and coconut, are way better for you, contain healthy fats, and actually taste good!

One such oil that I’d like to talk about today is avocado. This oil changed my life. It’s much healthier, so you can use it without much guilt. But even on top of that, it’s got an incredibly high smoke point, so it’s waaaay better for frying. And as an added bonus, you know that nasty vegetable oil taste you get when something is too greasy or gets a little soggy with oil? Avocado oil has none of that, and in fact I fully realize now just how much I hate the taste of canola oil. I can accidentally grease up my food like crazy and I never get that nauseating grossness I used to get. I straight up can’t go back to canola, ever.

The only downside is that avocado is a lot pricier than cheap vegetable oil. You definitely pay for the privilege of frying in a healthier, overall better oil. But I feel that it’s worth every penny, and Costco has really big bottles for what’s probably the cheapest price per ounce you’ll find.

Trust me on this. Avocado oil is incredible. And it’s great for making mayonnaise! *gets idea for future recommendation*
