Cheese powder

Okay, so you know the cheese powder stuff that comes in packets in boxes of mac and cheese? Yeah, did you know you can buy JUST THE POWDER???

This knowledge blew my mind. It feels like a power that no person should be able to possess, yet here we are. You can buy big bags of the stuff, and it functions identically to the powder in the boxes. Mix it with milk and butter to make cheese sauce and add it to any type of noodle you like. Since you’re not limited to the contents of a small packet, you can make it as cheesy as you like.

OH, BUT THAT’S NOT ALL.

Add chili powder and other spices to make nacho sauce. Sprinkle it on your popcorn. Put it on tortilla chips to make your own Doritos. Or if you’re looking for a low-carb option, throw some in a bag of pork rinds and shake it all up. Heck, I’ve even been experimenting with making what is essentially mac and cheese but with broccoli instead of noodles (still needs work but I’m onto something).

The powder from Nuts.com is what I’ve been using, but I’ll definitely try out some other brands after I use it up. If you find a good brand, shoot me an email and let me know!

And yes, cheese powder is a pretty heavily processed food, so I don’t recommend you go overboard with it. But there ain’t nothin’ wrong with adding a little injection of cheese to your day every once in a while, right?
